Throughout my graduate school experience at Auburn University I have conducted multiple lectures, a conference presentation, and public speaking engagements at the Tuskegee and Auburn Military Science departments, respectively. The themes of utterance, identity, and power permeate throughout all my talks as a means of communicating the necessity for students to understand their potential, power, and voice. My attempt to confront and conflate contemporary social issues that may implicate both Auburn and Tuskegee students and cadets has been well recieved. The true benefit of my interactions with Auburn and Tuskegee students has been a mutual exchange of knowledge and ideas. This only reaffirms my desire to teach and to learn just as much from my students as, hopefully, they learn from me.
